Hamburg, Germany, 5 December 2005: With this exciting new product several issues for oligo users are being addressed. High throughput users working in genotyping, for example, face the fact that large sets of thousands or even tens of thousands of oligos pose a massive problem in maintaining order, leading to loss of oligos, deterioration due to unnecessary freeze-thaw processes and to the wasting of money and man-hours for sorting and searching processes.
Having oligos available in a robotic compatible 96-well format makes them immediately suitable for liquid handling instrumentation and molecular biology experimentation.
The ability to individually track each and every oligo with ABgene’s 2D Data Matrix code fixed to the individual cluster tubes, offers massive cost savings as loss of oligos is prevented. Oligo sets can constantly be improved and readjusted to needs by recombining them to new sets of individual tubes rather than pipetting in and out of deep-well storage plates.
By offering oligo sets with pre-adjusted concentrations in 2D Data Matrix coded cluster tubes, oligo manufacturers react to the demand to simplify lab workflows with all improvements of error rates and cost reductions.
