Description
To complement our range of ABsolute™ QPCR Mixes, ABgene offers a range of opaque white consumables optimised for use in QPCR and other fluorescence applications.
In addition to our standard profile range, we also offer low profile designs that are ideal for use with small reaction volumes as they minimise sample condensation and increase reaction efficiency. A wide variety of non-skirted, semi-skirted and fully skirted plates, as well as tube strips, are available for use with most QPCR thermal cyclers.

Some manufacturers recommend frosted consumables for use with QPCR, tests reveal that frosted plates give less consistent results than either white or natural plates. Our tests show up to a four-fold decrease in variance when using white as opposed to frosted plates for QPCR. Frosted plates have an uneven surface that can cause inconsistent reflection and refraction of light. As with any quantitative assay, consistency is a prerequisite to accuracy, so it is critical to keep variance to a minimum.
